MANGO BIKES / (NOT) REBRANDING
The Problem
2021 was the year everyone was rebranding. The design world was awash with announcements, reveals, and opinion pieces. Mango Bikes had no intention of doing the same. But they weren't going to let everyone else have all the fun either.
The idea
Mango founder Andrew had a simple brief. Take the mick out of the rebranding epidemic in true Mango style. I took that brief and ran with it. If everyone's rebranding, why don't we rebrand as everyone else? I took some of the world's most recognisable logos and gave them the Mango treatment. Amazon, Burger King, and more, all reimagined with Mango Bikes in the mix.
Picasso once said bad artists copy, and great artists steal. We may have taken that a little too literally.
The delivery
After picking the logos, I redesigned them in the Mango style and rolled them out across social, including swapping out the profile pictures. When we launched, we got a nice bump in engagement. Most people saw what we were doing and loved the Mango response. The occasional user didn't seem to get it and thought the new logo looked more like a burger joint and that we shouldn't have changed it. I guess they missed the point.
Where it ran
Organic social media, including swapping out profile pictures across Mango Bikes' social channels.
